Greetings and Salutations.

1 Sep

Hello!

My name is Megan, and I make things. All the time. Some might say compulsively. I have been knitting since learning at my grandmother’s feet twenty years ago. I can also crochet, although I almost always prefer to knit. I’ve just recently become interested in sewing, particularly garment sewing. I love embroidering, particularly with vintage patterns.

I believe that making things is the best way to stay sane in a world increasingly filled with cheaply manufactured copies of copies of copies. I believe that hand-knit socks are the best possible thing for cold feet. I believe that my clothes should be made just for me, and since I can’t afford to pay someone to do it, I’m going to be increasingly doing it for myself. I believe in homemade presents whenever possible.

I’m finishing my master’s thesis in Creative Writing (Poetry), and when I’m done with that, I have no idea what I’m going to do with my life, but I know for sure that I’ll keep making things, forever, until my arms fall off.

I hope to use this space to document my projects, and to connect with other makers. I have some big plans to start with, so stay tuned!

Megan.

Hello and welcome to the blogging world! My name is Megan too (although that’s sort of a secret online… hahaha). I blog over at http://www.wordpress.lunachick265.com. I’m also doing the Fall Palette Challenge and I’m excited to see what you come up with over these next few weeks! Good luck!

I love your palette! Megans have good taste.

I look forward to seeing your progress as well. Thanks for stopping by!
